Simplify Fleet Emission Testing

ECOM America introduces an advanced Vehicle Emission Testing System (VETS) designed specifically for fleet operations utilizing Diesel, CNG and LNG powered vehicles. 08/10/06 -- PRINT

ECOM America introduces an advanced Vehicle Emission Testing System (VETS) designed specifically for fleet operations utilizing Diesel, CNG and LNG powered vehicles. VETS allows municipal and school transit systems, trucking companies, courier fleets, rail / marine freight carriers and similar fleet owners to easily measure exhaust emissions such as CO, CO2, NOX and Smoke Opacity.

VETS consists of an exhaust gas analyzer, an SAE J1667 compliant opacity meter, and a dedicated computer system, all housed in a portable industrial shop cabinet. The VETS software practically automates the emission testing procedure and maintains a historical database for every vehicle in the fleet.

Parameters measured include O2, CO, CO2, NOX, Smoke Opacity, Exhaust Temperatures, RPM, and Oil Temperature. Additional information such as vehicle ID, engine type, mileage, shop location, technician name, etc. are also recorded.
Multiple VETS units can be networked between shop locations to allow maintenance and environmental managers access to emissions records from a central location.

The VETS program was spawned from ECOM’s proven expertise in the mining industries where diesel engine emission monitoring is paramount to worker and environmental safety as well as production efficiency.

ECOM America is a leading manufacturer of emission analysis systems distributed and serviced worldwide.  More information on the VETS program and other emission analyzers can be obtained by contacting ECOM America at 877-326-6411, info@ecomusa.com or by visiting our website at www.ecomusa.com.

ECOM Raises the Bar on Data Acquisition Software for Emission Testing

ECOM America, a global leader in portable emission analyzers, has just introduced an advanced version of their DAS software for fast, yet comprehensive testing and analysis. 08/10/06 -- PRINT

GAINESVILLE, GA – ECOM America, a global leader in portable emission  analyzers, has just introduced an advanced version of their DAS software for fast, yet comprehensive testing and analysis.

Last year, ECOM launched a revolutionary Data Acquisition Software enabling emission testing operators to input engine function parameters, fuel analysis, fuel consumption, and air permit information, when utilizing ECOM analyzers.  This original proprietary system delivered real time mass emission calculations and simple, yet complete report generation.

Now, emission testers have even more control of the process with additional features designed to make testing and reporting easier still.

“We offer User Defined Protocols”, states ECOM president Drew Wilson.  “While all calculations and general requirements of a testing protocol are part of our software, the latest version of ECOM DAS allows the user to customize the test procedure to meet local agency requirements or inter-company parameters that vary from EPA CTM-030/-034 standards.”

Data base management has also been enhanced and more easily accessed.  All test reports, regardless of protocol customization, will be produced on a standard form to improve inter-company and multi-state reporting.  PC displayed information is now easier to view and customize through the use of a new graphic interface and real-time strip chart.

ECOM America designs and markets advanced portable emission analyzers worldwide in the power, mining and transportation industries.  ECOM is based in Gainesville, Georgia.
